Must have been looking for a party

March 30, 2009

Remember partying out in Rendlesham Forest. Turns out others hanging out there have been seeing unusual sights and they aren’t talking about UFO’s.

My bet is that it was only a deer. Anyone else have ideas?

Putting Bentwaters to use

July 2, 2008

This isn’t really WHS related but thought it interested.  It seems they converted one of the old hangers at Bentwaters–you know, those massive things built to withstand the Soviet first attack–into a concert hall for the Aldeburgh Festival.

But it was still a refreshing context in which to hear such experimental electronic music – provided by some 20 artists – and the organisers had made the most of the setting. A huge hangar – an acoustically sealed chamber with a giant wind tunnel at its centre, called the Hush House – had been converted into an immersive acoustic space. A stage was positioned in front of the wind tunnel, which was strikingly lit, and the “auditorium” was surrounded by a sonic Stonehenge of speaker stacks.

Bentwaters site for Olympic training.

This is kind of cool.  Bentwaters has been chosen as a location for Road Cycling teams to train prior to the 2012 Olympics in London.

Honest, it’s in there.
